TFT_ex03.in : TFT Simulation Using the C-interpreter

Every software package contains a full set of examples suitable for that version and are installed with the software. If you see examples here that are not in your installation you should consider updating to a later version of the software. These examples can be used by beginners and advanced users for product evaluation, teaching purposes, and self-training.

Required Modules

  • 2D TFT

The DEFECTS statement only allows the user to specify a fixed density of states versus energy distribution. This would normally comprise one Gaussian and/or one exponential energy distribution of traps across the bandgap. This may not necessarily accurately reflect the user’s material.

However, Victory Device allows the user to use the C-interpreter to specify the density of states versus energy distribution. On the DEFECTS statement the options f.tftacc and f.tftdon specify files which should contain the distributions written as standard C routines.

In this example the acceptor and donor densities are defined by two exponential equations each which begin from the conduction and the valence bands. The parameters that would normally specify the density of states should be set to nta=ntd=nga=ngd=0 otherwise they would be added to the C-interpreter values.

The capture cross sections are also taken from the C-interpreter file.
