Silvaco at a glance
What Silvaco is
Silvaco builds the software and IP that show you what a process, a device or a circuit will do before anyone commits a mask set to it. Underneath is four decades of device physics. AI models now put it to work while the decision is still open.
Scale
More than 200 universities use Silvaco tools for teaching and research. In display, eight of the ten biggest manufacturers work in Silvaco TCAD. On the chip side, six of the ten largest semiconductor companies run Silvaco EDA. Customers also work in memory, power devices, automotive, photonics, foundries, high-performance computing, IoT and 5G/6G mobile.
Acquisitions
Mixel Group, Inc. became part of Silvaco on August 4, 2025, and moved into AI-Driven Design. It came with more than 25 years of MIPI PHY and SerDes silicon, and design teams in Egypt, Vietnam and the US. What you gain is interface IP your team can shape to the SoC, not a block you take as it comes.
Investor relations
Weighing Silvaco as an investment? Start at the investor relations site. SEC filings, quarterly results, governance documents and the IR contact all live there. It’s also the one place to quote a financial figure from.
Product portfolio
Both units put physics that took decades to build behind AI that
makes it usable on today’s schedule.
Model how each process step shapes the device, from the
atomic level up. Fab engineers get a result they can use on the
current run, not the one after it.
Design and verify transistor-level circuits. License silicon-
proven interface IP, Mixel’s MIPI portfolio included, instead
of building your own.

Questions about Silvaco
What does Silvaco do?
Silvaco builds simulation software and semiconductor IP for chip and process teams, organized as two business units. TCAD and FTCO sit in AI-Driven Manufacturing, where they model a process step by step and predict how the finished device performs. AI-Driven Design holds circuit simulation, analog and custom IC tools, and the IP you license, Mixel's MIPI portfolio included.
Where is Silvaco headquartered?
Silvaco's headquarters is at 4701 Patrick Henry Drive, Building 23, Santa Clara, California. The company lists twelve locations in all: offices in the US, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Singapore, the UK, France and Israel, plus distributors covering India and Malaysia. You'll find each address on the office locations page.
Is Silvaco a public company?
Yes. Silvaco Group, Inc. shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker SVCO. The investor relations site carries the SEC filings, quarterly results and governance documents, plus a contact for analyst and investor questions. When you need a financial figure about the company, cite it from there.
How many customers does Silvaco have?
Eight of the ten biggest display manufacturers are Silvaco TCAD customers, as are six of the ten largest semiconductor companies on the EDA side. Universities count separately: more than 200 of them use the tools under their own teaching and research license.
What is the difference between TCAD, EDA and SIP?
TCAD, or technology computer-aided design, simulates each process step that forms a device, then predicts its behavior at atomic scale. EDA, electronic design automation, takes those devices as given and lets engineers design and verify the circuits built from them. SIP, semiconductor intellectual property, is a pre-verified block you license rather than design yourself. Silvaco sells all three.
When was Silvaco founded?
Silvaco started in 1984 with TCAD. The device physics built up since then still sits under most of what it ships, the AI models behind FTCO included. The company later listed on Nasdaq as SVCO. In August 2025 it acquired Mixel, adding interface IP with a MIPI track record going back to 1998.
