Every software package contains a full set of examples suitable for that version and are installed with the software. If you see examples here that are not in your installation you should consider updating to a later version of the software. These examples can be used by beginners and advanced users for product evaluation, teaching purposes, and self-training.

This example shows how to combine two or more overlapping mask layers into a single layer using Boolean operations.
Two masks are defined, each layer contains a circular mask. The masks overlap each other.
The two masks are then combined into a single layer using different Boolean operations.
AND: New mask layer is only where both layers overlap
OR: New mask layer is where either mask is present
XOR: Inverse of AND, new mask layer is where only one mask or the other is present
SUBTRACT: the second mask area is removed from the first.
NOTE: If you wish to combine two or more masks into a single layer then the ADD command on SPECIFYMASKPOLY could be used. However, the masks being combined in this way must not have common points (i.e., they do not intersect, touch, or lay within each other). Not included in this example as the masks used here overlap.
