Every software package contains a full set of examples suitable for that version and are installed with the software. If you see examples here that are not in your installation you should consider updating to a later version of the software. These examples can be used by beginners and advanced users for product evaluation, teaching purposes, and self-training.

Generally material regions are of irregular shape. As such calculating the perimeter length can be challenging. This example demonstrates how to calculate the perimeter length of an arbitrary shape in a structure.

An example structure is built with an arbitrarily shaped oxide region embedded in silicon.

EXTRACT.RIDGE is used to extract the length from the structure. The region to be measured is specified by the REGION flag. The surrounding region is specified by OTHER.REGIONS. It is possible to specify that there is more than one region surrounding the region of interest. It is also possible to localise the area of the device the statement is applied to as there could be many identical instances.
