Every software package contains a full set of examples suitable for that version and are installed with the software. If you see examples here that are not in your installation you should consider updating to a later version of the software. These examples can be used by beginners and advanced users for product evaluation, teaching purposes, and self-training.

.log files generated by the device simulator will contain as a minimum the current and voltage on each electrode for the electrical simulation performed on the device.

It is often desirable to save a single curve from that collection to a separate file enabling further analysis in third party tools.

This example shows how to extract a single curve from a .log file. The log file was generated in a separate simulation and is simply a typical MOSFET threshold voltage simulation.

The first action is to generate the curve, specifying the name of the curve and what quantities will be used for the x and y axis, this is done on the CURVE statement.

Once the curve is created, further actions can be performed, to save this curve as a .csv, the EXTRACT.CSV statement is called and a name given to the created curve.

This example also demonstrates how to extract the maximum value from a specified axis. In this instance, the maximum value from the y axis is extracted, the y axis in this example is defined as the “drain current “.

The above two actions are demonstrated separately. The final section combines both actions into one.
