Every software package contains a full set of examples suitable for that version and are installed with the software. If you see examples here that are not in your installation you should consider updating to a later version of the software. These examples can be used by beginners and advanced users for product evaluation, teaching purposes, and self-training.

This example illustrates the generation of a spherical structure on a cuboid. One possible application is solar cell devices which are typically fabricated using etch and deposition techniques. These represent significant computational overhead for process simulation. This lens is used to concentrate the incoming light to enhance the cell output current.
Creating such a structure is trivial when made using a solid modelling approach. The deck begins with a sphere. This sphere is defined using the height parameter, which defines a spherical cap. In this case the height can be between (0 and 2 * radius]. This cap is then rotated to ensure the flat piece is oriented correctly to join with the cuboid.
A cuboid of silicon is defined (ensuring its top interface is at a y absolute offset of 0), and finally the join command is used to stitch the two shapes together. The join command attaches two meshes along a boundary interface (in this case at a z offset of 0).
The final device structure is then re-meshed using the Delaunay scheme and some basic uniform refinement is applied via the max.size parameter. It is possible to import this cell into Victory Device. In this example an anode and cathode are attached. The anode is ramped from 0 to 1V, and the potential field can be viewed on the final structure.
