From Standard Cells to Strategic Advantage: Building Differentiated PPA Value
Abstract:
An IC’s optimal balance of power, performance, and area (PPA) depends on the target application, so building them from generic standard cell libraries inevitably leaves customer value unrealized. With application-optimized libraries, foundries can broaden their application ecosystems, IDMs can tune their product families, and fabless companies on shared process nodes can distinguish their designs.
Silvaco’s CellForge is an enabling platform, automating layout creation, migration, and repeatable modifications while integrating with established DRC, LVS, extraction, characterization, and sign-off flows. By expanding exploration capacity and turning expert knowledge into reusable workflows, CellForge enables planar and advanced-node foundries, IDMs, and fabless companies to rapidly create highly differentiated libraries that accelerate product innovation, shorten development cycles, and strengthen competitive advantage.
What You Will Learn:
- How Foundries, IDMs, and Fabless companies can translate application-targeted standard cells into strategic advantage
- How standard cells can be customized to meet design and applications targets
- How to advance from focus on production deadlines to focus on the exploration for the optimal standard cells for each end application
