Recently, holographic near-eye displays using LCoS as a key optical component opened a new era for computer-generated holograms. The LCoS-based spatial light modulator (SLM) has been widely implemented in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) displays because of its high luminance, compactness, high-resolution density, and low driving voltage. Commercial VR and AR head-mounted devices using LCoS-SLM such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Google Glass, and Microsoft HoloLens were announced and released in the past few years. However, the cutting edge LCoS still needs improvement to meet the stringent requirements for low latency and high resolution AR systems. That increases the difficulty in the design and optimization of LCoS pixels.<\/p>\n<p>In this webinar, we will show the way of analyzing a phase-only LCoS-SLM using the simulation tool Clever LCD.
