IT Support Team Lead

Position Description and Responsibilities

Silvaco is looking for a skilled IT Support Team Lead to join our Global IT Team.  As a member of our Global IT Team your responsibilities will include maintaining, upgrading, and managing the desktops and laptops of our employees while working with our Global IT Team and IT Management to help shape and implement the future of IT to help Silvaco achieve long-term success.  The successful candidate will also need to be well-versed in desktop support and troubleshooting skills.

This position may require some travel to our offices around the world as needed and safety allows.

Responsibilities include:

  • Training new IT Support team members and mentoring existing members
  • Configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Windows, Linux, and macOS desktops and laptops
  • Troubleshooting desktop and laptop Hardware/Software issues
  • Provide technical support for employees
  • White glove support for the Executive team and owners
  • Assign tickets to the proper areas of IT to make sure tickets are handled promptly
  • Management of user accounts (lockouts, password reset, security groups etc.)
  • Onboarding employees (creating corporate accounts, preparing equipment required, providing building access)
  • Offboarding employees (terminating corporate accounts, properly backing up then decommissioning hardware, removing building access)
  • Remote support via zoom and remote access tools
  • After-hours/weekend/holiday support required as needed
  • Maintaining technical support documentation
  • Ownership of IT Asset control system and processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Intermediate knowledge of CentOS and RedHat Linux
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of Network Authentication systems (e.g. NIS, LDAP, AD)
  • Knowledge of OSX/macOS
  • Knowledge of basic network operations
  • Excellent technical written and verbal English
  • Advanced knowledge of PC hardware
  • Familiarity with Wireless networks and troubleshooting them
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Office 365 (user onboard/offboard, troubleshooting)
  • Knowledge of Zoom
  • Well versed in Multi-Factor Authentication (e.g. DUO, MS Authenticator)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Android
  • Intermediate knowledge of iOS and iPadOS

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2 years experience with CentOS or RHEL 6/7
  • 5+ years experience with Windows 7 or newer
  • Energetic Team Player with Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Familiarity with Slack and Vivantio is a plus
  • Knowledge of Powershell is a plus
  • Advanced Knowledge of Networking is a plus
  • Excellent technical written and verbal English
  • Low voltage electronic engineering knowledge is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
