It has been shown that through careful design, the on-state resistance can exceed the silicon limit [4].<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;\">This article gives a review and introduction into the layout and design of such structures is given. Initially a simple 2D half-cell is considered. The basic structure is then expanded to incorporate the termination and isolation cells.
