IT Sr Systems Engineer / Regional Team Lead

Position Description and Responsibilities

Silvaco is looking for a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our Global IT Team. As a member of our Global IT Team your responsibilities will include maintaining, upgrading, and managing the software, hardware, and networks of our current infrastructure while working with our other Systems Administrators and IT Management to help shape and implement our next generation of IT Infrastructure to help Silvaco achieve long-term success. As the European Team Lead the successful candidate will need to be a self-starter as well as experienced in leading a small team. The successful candidate will also need to be well-versed in desktop support and troubleshooting skills.

This position will require up to 15% travel time to our offices worldwide.

Responsibilities include:

  • Configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Windows, Linux, and macOS servers
  • Provide technical support for employees in all European offices
  • Documentation of systems and services
  • Discovery of newly acquired systems
  • Troubleshooting server & desktop issues
  • Respond and resolve help requests in a timely manner
  • System and Service monitoring
  • Backup and Recovery
  • Network and Security management
  • Assist Support Engineers with advanced desktop issues
  • Help train new team member on systems
  • After-hours/weekend/holiday support as needed
  • Ensure integrity of systems and data
  • Triaging remote systems and prioritizing support needs
  • Executive support for travelling executives
  • Oversight of regional IT employees and expenditures

And other responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in Systems Administration
  • Advanced knowledge of CentOS and RedHat Enterprise Linux
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows and Active Directory
  • Intermediate Knowledge of OSX/macOS
  • Knowledge of basic network operations
  • Excellent technical written and verbal English
  • Advanced knowledge of PC and Server hardware
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux system functions
  • Familiarity with Wireless networks and troubleshooting them
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Office 365 (user onboard/offboard, troubleshooting)
  • Familiarity with Security Best Practices
  • Familiarity with Two-Factor Authentication (e.g. DUO, MS Authenticator)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Android
  • Intermediate knowledge of iOS and iPadOS

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience managing others
  • 5 years’ experience with CentOS or RHEL 6 and newer
  • 5 years’ experience with Windows Server 2012 and newer
  • Energetic Team Player with Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Hypervisors and Virtual Environments
  • Indomitable work ethics and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Familiarity with Zoom (video and chat)
  • Familiarity with Slack and Vivantio is a plus
  • Knowledge of Ansible or other IT automation systems (e.g. Puppet/Chef)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages is a plus (e.g. Python/shell scripts)
  • Advanced Knowledge of Networking is a plus
  • Knowledge of License Management software (e.g. FlexLM)
  • Excellent technical written and verbal English
  • Excellent time management skills
